MANILA, Philippines — The Parañaque City council has mandated the Clean-As-You-Go or Claygo practice in food service establishments.

“Claygo will promote a culture of cleanliness, discipline and environmental responsibility among residents,” Vice Mayor Joan Villafuerte said.

Restaurants, canteens, coffee shops, cafeterias, bakeries, food stalls, eateries, fastfood chains and similar establishments are covered by Ordinance No. 2025-06.

Villafuerte said implementing Claygo would reduce the workload of restaurant workers.

Parañaque Mayor Eric Olivarez signed the ordinance last month.

Violators will face fines of up to P5,000.
