Reward offered for arrest of Boracay tourist killers

MANILA, Philippines — A cash reward of P100,000 has been offered for anyone who can provide information that can lead to the arrest of the killers of a Slovak tourist on Boracay Island in Malay, Aklan.
Rep. Teodorico Haresco Jr. of the second district of Aklan announced the reward during a meeting with the Malay police for an update about the investigation.
Haresco described the incident as a major blow to the country’s tourism industry.
“We must act swiftly and decisively to address this issue and restore public trust. We need to reassure tourists that Boracay is a safe place,” Haresco said.
Michaela Mickova, 23, was found dead at an abandoned chapel in Barangay Balabag on March 12, two days after she was reported missing.
Haresco said the reward is necessary to speed up the arrest of the killers.
Police have identified two persons of interest, one of whom has reportedly admitted his role in the crime, and are eyeing another.
