Bomb threat disrupts classes

LAGUNA, Philippines — Classes in all schools and colleges in Pangil town in this province were suspended after an elementary school received a bomb threat yesterday morning.
The threat was sent through a letter found at around 8:40 a.m. at the gate of the Pakil Elementary School in Barangay Isla.
The letter was found by teacher Rozchelle Subijano and her two pupils. They immediately reported the matter to the principal’s office, which sought the help of the police.
The letter reportedly stated that a bomb planted at the Pangil Elementary School would explode in a few hours.
The local police advised the school administrator and teachers to evacuate the pupils.
The threat prompted the municipal government to suspend classes in all schools in the area.
A team from the Explosive Ordnance Division inspected the school premises, but did not find any explosive.
