Go pushes infrastructure development, community resilience

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Bong Go, adopted son of Calabarzon with familial roots from Batangas, attended the blessing and inauguration of a multipurpose building in San Juan, Batangas on Thursday.
“Nagagalak ako na maging bahagi ng okasyong ito kung saan tayo ay nagtitipon upang itaguyod ang blessing at inauguration nitong multipurpose building na maaaring magsilbing evacuation center,”Go said.
He reiterated the importance of investing in infrastructure that can bring in development while promoting safety and resilience of the community.
Go said this aligns with his advocacy to establish evacuation centers in strategic locations nationwide as provided under Senate Bill No. 2451 or the proposed Ligtas Pinoy Centers Act.
Go is a co-sponsor of the bill, which was sponsored by Sen. Jinggoy Estrada.
The measure, which was based on the Mandatory Evacuation Center bill that Go had filed, aims to establish permanent and well-equipped evacuation centers nationwide.
Apart from the multipurpose building, Go supported road rehabilitation and the construction of slope protection and flood mitigation structures in several barangays in San Juan.
Go, chairman of the Senate committee on health and demography, also checked a facility that is being improved to serve as a Super Health Center in the town.
