Katipunan zipper lane exits adjusted

Mark Ernest Villeza - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — A zipper lane dry run, intended to reduce traffic along Katipunan Avenue in Quezon City during the morning rush hour, was adjusted following the first day of its implementation on Monday.

The zipper lane will have one exit instead of two to avoid affecting the northbound direction of Katipunan Avenue, officials said.

As a result, the exit leading to Miriam College Gate 3 will be removed.

This will leave only the exit to Miriam College Gate 5 and 6 along Mangyan Road within La Vista Subdivision.

The entrance to the zipper lane will remain at the U-turn slot in front of UP Town Center-Mercury Drug (near the left turn going to C.P. Garcia Avenue).

The zipper lane dry run’s hours was adjusted from 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and will be enforced during weekends, except for holidays.
