June 24 declared a special non-working day in Manila
MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has declared June 24, a Saturday, a special non-working day in the city of Manila in observance of its 452nd founding anniversary.
“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the city of Manila be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion and enjoy the celebration,” Proclamation 261, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin on June 15, declared.
A worker can get as much as 130 percent for working on a special non-working holiday and an additional 50 percent if that day is his or her rest day, according to the Department of Labor and Employment.
