Drug suspect slain; P2.38 million shabu seized

MANILA, Philippines — A suspected drug dealer was killed in an alleged shootout with anti-narcotics agents in Isla Verde in Davao City on Tuesday.

Omar Baraeman, 42, drew his gun when he sensed he was dealing with an undercover agent who bought shabu worth P24,000 in a sting in Barangay 23-C in Purok 4.

Meanwhile, police recovered shabu worth P2.38 million in an anti-narcotics operation in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur.

Maj. Shellamie Chang, spokesperson for the Zamboanga peninsula police, said Ronilo Obedras, 46; Neil Sasing, 32, and Mark Jay Sumera, 29, were arrested in Barangay San Pedro.

In Benguet, fully grown marijuana plants worth P600,000 were uprooted and destroyed in Barangay Tacadang in Kibungan town. – Emmanuel Tupas, Roel Pareño, Artemio Dumlao
