MANILA, Philippines — The voters list for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections will be released not later than Aug. 1, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

In a five-page resolution dated March 22, the Comelec said local Election Registration Boards (ERBs) were directed to verify the names of voters and conduct certification and sealing of Election Day Computerized Voters List (EDCVLs) and Posted Computerized Voters List (PCVLs) on or before July 27.

“Posting of the verified and certified EDCVLs and PCVLs shall be made not later than Aug. 1,” the Comelec said in a resolution approved by the commission en banc.

The Comelec ordered ERBs to exclude in the verification and certification of the EDCVLs and PCVLs the names of registered voters who have transferred, with double or multiple registration records due to Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS), those who died and those with court exclusion order.

The poll body said those who obtained court inclusion orders and those who were erroneously delisted through AFIS due to wrongful encoding of type of application in the voter registration system should be included in the voters list.

The Voter’s Registration Act mandates ERBs to prepare and post certified lists of voters 90 days before a regular election is to be held.

The list should be posted in the offices of election officers and on the bulletin board of city or municipal halls.

The barangay and SK elections will be held on Oct. 30.
