Manila opens city hall housing to employees

Marc Jayson Cayabyab - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna has urged city hall employees to avail themselves of the city government housing projects.

During the flag-raising ceremony on Monday, Lacuna urged employees to apply for housing with the Manila Urban Settlements Office. She said these projects offer affordable rates with facilities on par with commercial condominiums.

Among the projects are the “Tondominium,” “Binondominium,” and “BaseCommunity.”

The others – Pedro Gil, San Lazaro, and San Sebastian Residences – are set for completion next year.

Meanwhile, the Manila Police District (MPD) yesterday commemorated its 122nd anniversary.

Index crimes in the city went down 13.2 percent to 1,107 in 2022 from 1,276 in 2021, according to the MPD.

These refer to murder, homicide, physical injuries, rape, robbery, car theft and theft – offenses computed as an index to compare crime situations.
