MANILA, Philippines — A couple and their companion were shot dead in an ambush in Pasay City yesterday.

Philip Jay Tan, his wife Lilian, of Tabon-Tabon, Bacao, Oriental Mindoro, and Richard Kevin delos Reyes of San Roque, Batangas died at the scene from gunshots to the body, according to city police chief Col. Froilan Uy.

Probers said the incident happened in front of the Light Rail Transit depot gate in Barangay 19 at around 12:30 p.m.

According to witnesses, the victims were in a white Honda Civic with license plate BCX-860 when two unidentified men approached and fired at them several times.

The assailants fled on foot after the attack, police said.

Probers said they recovered drug paraphernalia, cash and firearms in the victims’ car.
