6 hurt as driver goes amok after smashup
MANILA, Philippines — Six people, including two Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) enforcers, were injured after a motorist figured in an accident and went berserk in Quezon City yesterday.
The suspect, Royce Steven Robles, is being held on charges of multiple physical injuries as a result of his rampage in Barangay West Triangle at around 7:20 a.m.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD), in a report, said Robles was driving a Toyota Fortuner sport utility vehicle along Quezon Avenue when he hit two motorcycles.
Four people were injured during the crash, police said.
A group of MMDA traffic enforcers arrived at the scene but Robles allegedly assaulted two of them.
A video posted on the Facebook page of dzBB showed the suspect in handcuffs and being restrained.
He was eventually pacified and settled down after several minutes.
The victims were treated for their injuries.
