6 nabbed for online sabong in Pasig

MANILA, Philippines — Six persons were apprehended for allegedly placing bets in e-sabong games in Pasig City on Tuesday.

Rogert Altiche, Julius Francisco, Monddie Castrono, Rolando Belen, Noe Ronapo and Manuel Pangos were caught betting on an online cockfight in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, according to Anti-Cybercrime Group director Brig. Gen Joel Doria.

Police arrested the suspects in response to a complaint from a concerned citizen about online cockfights in the area.

The suspects are being held on charges of illegal gambling in relation to Republic Act 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act.

“We would like to remind the public to refrain from engaging in online sabong,” Doria said.
