MANILA, Philippines — The police Highway Patrol Group (HPG) has warned motorists against doing the “ligo challenge,” a video content showing people taking a bath while on a motorcycle.

The HPG said the act, which is a popular trend on TikTok, is prohibited under the law.

“Ipinagbabawal sa publiko ang pag-gawa ng ganitong klaseng content or vlog,” the HPG said.

Police issued the warning after a social media influencer and her companion posted a video on Facebook doing the challenge while on a motorcycle.

The video was taken down but a screenshot showed the vlogger, who has 1.4 million followers on Facebook, being doused by a female back rider with a pail of water while on a motorcycle.

The HPG said people who are caught doing the act may face charges of reckless driving, driving without a helmet and distracted driving as well as revocation of a driver’s license.
