PNP declares Las Piñas a ‘safe city’
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police has declared Las Piñas as a “safe city” in Metro Manila.
City police chief Col. Jaime Santos presented a plaque of recognition signed by National Capital Region Police Office director Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad to Mayor Imelda Aguilar during the 121st police service anniversary at the NCRPO’s Hinirang Hall at Camp Bagong Diwa on Aug. 15.
Aguilar said the award was based on the police performance that has made Las Piñas a city with the least crime volume.
The mayor noted that the city police recorded the highest number of arrested suspects for committed crimes.
Aguilar said the biggest factors that made Las Piñas a safe place to live in were police visibility and the conduct of checkpoints in coordination with various barangays.
