Batangas road mishap death toll rises to 4

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — The death toll in the road accident in Nasugbu, Batangas on Tuesday increased to four after the body of the truck driver was recovered.

Lt. Col. Jephte Banderado, Nasugbu police chief, said Hilario Condez, 49, was found under the 12-wheeler truck, which was loaded with coal.

Initial police reports showed that Condez escaped after the accident.

Three passengers of a car that collided with the truck that Condez was driving died at the scene. Truck helper Rolando Recto Jr., 36, who was injured, remained confined in a hospital yesterday.
