MANILA, Philippines — Two city-run hospitals will limit their operations to decongest and disinfect their facilities, according to the Manila city public information office.

Gat Andres Bonifacio Medical Center will limit admissions in the emergency room to “extreme cases” to decongest the patients confined in the hospital.

Meanwhile, the Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital will temporarily close its “labor room/delivery room complex/operating room” from March 10 to 15 for the scheduled disinfection and repair of the hospital.

“Both hospitals asked the public’s understanding while also calling on the other district hospitals to accommodate the patients being referred to them,” the city hall advisory read.

Manila logged 219 active COVID-19 cases as of Wednesday, with 12 new cases.
