P3.57 million shabu seized in Quezon City sting

MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics agents confiscated an estimated 550 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu with a street value of P3.57 million in a sting in Quezon City on Monday.
Muslimin Mantil, 28, was arrested by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Bagbag at around 10:15 p.m.
The suspect allegedly negotiated a deal with an agent posing as a drug buyer for a pack of shabu, PDEA said in a report.
Mantil, who also yielded a cell phone he reportedly used during the transaction, is being held on charges of drug trafficking.
Meanwhile, three suspected drug dealers were arrested during a raid on an alleged drug den in Barangay Tandang Sora on Monday.
PDEA agents seized 15 grams of shabu valued at P102,000 and assorted drug paraphernalia from Ejay Roque, 28; Gabriel Senilla, 37, and John Mark Bumagat, 37.
6 nabbed for gunrunning
Six suspected gunrunners were arrested by agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Manila and Makati since Monday.
Mark Angelo Montero, 39, and Jovita Pangilinan, 55, were collared in Barangay Pitogo, Makati at around 9:10 p.m., according to CIDG National Capital Region field office chief Col. Randy Glenn Silvio.
The two were reportedly caught with two .38-caliber revolvers they sold to a policeman posing as a buyer and around 60 grams of shabu with a street value of P408,000.
Silvio said the suspects are members of a criminal gang involved in gunrunning, robbery and other crimes in southern Metro Manila.
Joseph Lumabas, 39, and Jay-R Maquinad, 36, were apprehended in Barangay 220, Manila at around 7:30 p.m. on Monday for allegedly selling a .38-caliber revolver and a .45-caliber pistol to an undercover police officer for P30,000.
Another operation led to the arrest of Marlon delos Santos, 32, and Renato Intano, 39, in Intramuros at around 2:30 a.m. yesterday for selling an improvised shotgun for P4,500.
Intano was also caught allegedly with five sachets of an undetermined quantity of shabu.
They were under surveillance for selling loose firearms and prohibited drugs in Manila.
