4 bogus CIDG agents nabbed in Tondo

MANILA, Philippines — Four men were apprehended for allegedly posing as police officers in Tondo, Manila on Saturday.
Henry Joshua Bancud, Elmer Barles, Dexter Villegas and Benjamin Asuncion were arrested for pretending to be members of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).
The suspects were accosted after a security guard reported them to police.
The four posed as CIDG agents to enter a condominium along Velasquez street, probers said.
The suspects failed to present identification cards as CIDG personnel, police added.
They yielded a loaded rifle and pistol. Charges of usurpation of authority and illegal possession of firearms are being readied against the suspects.
