Mandaluyong’s active COVID-19 cases drop by 29%

MANILA, Philippines — The number of active COVID-19 cases in Mandaluyong went down by at least 29 percent.
Data from the city health office showed that there were 687 active cases in Mandaluyong on Feb. 9, down from 976 cases in the preceding week.
Barangay Hulo logged the most number of COVID cases with 96 followed byAddition Hills, 84; Highway Hills, 66, Barangka Ilaya, 62, and New Zaniga, 52.
Among the national government institutions in Mandaluyong, the National Center for Mental Health recorded 34 cases of COVID-19.
Mayor Carmelita Abalos yesterday led the distribution of COVID-19 health recovery kits in Barangka Ilaya.
The health kits contain medicines for COVID symptoms such as cough, colds and fever.
Pediatric vaccination
Meanwhile, San Juan City ranked first among all the vaccination sites in Metro Manila during the first day of the pediatric vaccination of children aged five to 11 on Monday.
Data from the Department of Health showed that the FilOil Arena in San Juan had the most number of children vaccinated with 736.
SM Sucat in Parañaque followed with 608 and SM North EDSA Skydome in Quezon City with 590.
Local government units with high percentage of boosters administered are Pateros with 52.43 percent; Mandaluyong, 45.97 percent; Marikina, 45.47 percent, and Makati with 28.78 percent.
