St. Jude Church closed due to COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — The National Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus in Manila will be closed for two weeks after a priest and three Church personnel tested positive for COVID-19.
The shrine will be shut down until Jan. 14.
“We will conduct disinfection for the duration of the closure. Churchgoers are requested to refrain from coming to the Church,” parish priest Fr. Lino Nicasio said.
Masses will be posted on the Shrine’s Facebook page.
The National Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus, located along Laurel street in San Miguel, Manila, has been holding novena service every Thursday since June 1959.
The devotion spread over the years and has become popular in Metro Manila.
Devotees of St. Jude are mostly students who are about to take board examinations and people with seemingly hopeless problems.
