Willie Revillame donates P9 million to Siargao towns

Alexis Romero - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — Actor and television host Willie Revillame has donated P9 million to Siargao, which was worst hit by Typhoon Odette.

Revillame went with President Duterte during his visit to Siargao on Wednesday.

“I want to share my blessings. I am meeting with the nine mayors now,” Revillame said in Filipino during an interview with Radyo 5 yesterday. ”I gave P1 million each to the nine mayors so they can buy roofs and start anew.”

Revillame said houses in Siargao have been washed out and residents need immediate relief like food and water.

“They are really pitiful. If you see them, your heart would bleed,” the actor said.

Revillame said he plans to visit the other areas affected by the typhoon to give aid to the survivors.
