MANILA, Philippines — The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), the country’s first multimodal transport hub, is expanding its network through a partnership with motorcycle ride-hailing app Angkas.

The partnership is expected to give passengers a more convenient commute by ensuring ride availability at the landport.

Angkas is one of the three motorcycle ride-hailing firms allowed by the government to operate in its pilot study for motorcycle taxis. Angkas says it provides reliable and affordable transportation for passengers.

PITX corporate affairs and government relations head Jason Salvador said the collaboration with Angkas would help PITX achieve its goal of making commuting a safe, comfortable and convenient experience for the public.

Angkas requires passengers to use their own helmet to ensure safety during the pandemic.

PITX, which is operated by MWM Terminals Inc. under a 35-year build-transfer-operate contract, now averages 60,000 to 65,000 in daily foot traffic following the easing of quarantine restrictions.
