Negros mayor tests positive for COVID-19 again

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines — Mayor Neil Lizares of Talisay City in Negros Occidental has contracted COVID-19 again.

Lizares yesterday confirmed that he and some members of his family tested positive for the virus. He said he has mild symptoms.

It was only last month when Lizares and Kabankalan City Mayor Pedro Zayco found out that they were infected.

Lizares assured his constituents that he is taking all measures to ensure his fast recovery.

Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr., who contracted the virus early this month, is about to complete his 14-day quarantine.
