Another woman shot in Abra

BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Barely 15 hours after a female doctor was shot, another woman was wounded in an attack by an unidentified assailant in Abra on Sunday night.

Restaurant employee Aileen Daria was at home in Barangay Budac, Tayum town when the assailant barged in and shot her at around 9:30 p.m.

Daria suffered a gunshot wound in the lower back and was taken to the Abra Provincial Hospital in Bangued for treatment.

Police recovered three bullet shells for a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

The motive for the attack has yet to be determined.

On Saturday night, government doctor Amor Trina Dait was shot at her house in Barangay Poblacion, Pilar town.

She suffered a gunshot wound in the leg, but died of heart attack while being treated at the hospital.
