BAGUIO CITY, Philippines – The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is allowing 12 colleges and universities in the Cordilleras to conduct face-to-face classes this coming schoolyear.

The CHED and Department of Health (DOH) issued a joint memorandum circular allowing face-to-face classes in health-related degree programs at the University of Baguio, University of the Cordilleras, Pine City College, St. Louis University, Easter College, Baguio Central University and Mountain Province State Polytechnic College.

Face-to-face classes will also be held at the Benguet State University, Benguet Vocational School, Cordillera Career Development College, Ifugao State University and Kalinga State University.

The CHED and DOH Cordillera offices and concerned local government units gave assurance on the strict monitoring and implementation of health and safety protocols to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

President Duterte has allowed limited face-to-face classes in schools offering medical and allied programs to ensure that the country would not run out of medical practitioners as it continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
