Dismissed cop nabbed in Masbate sting

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines — A dismissed policeman was arrested in a sting in Cawayan, Masbate on Sunday.

Neljun Lepasana, 30, reportedly yielded 55 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P374,000, according to Gen. Jonnel Estomo, Bicol police director.

Lepasana was on the drug list of the Bicol police, Estomo said.

He said the suspect was dismissed from the police service for involvement in illegal activities while he was assigned at the Southern Police District-Drug Enforcement Unit in Metro Manila.

Lepasana was arrested after he reportedly sold five grams of shabu to police undercover agents. He was reportedly a major drug supplier in Cawayan and Placer.

Charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect.
