Parañaque forms task force ayuda

(The Philippine Star) - April 9, 2021 - 12:00am

MANILA, Philippines — The local government of Parañaque has created a task force to supervise the distribution of the lockdown assistance to city residents affected by the extended enhanced community quarantine or ECQ, an official announced yesterday.

Task Force Ayuda will be led by Mayor Edwin Olivarez as chairman and city administrator Ding Soriano as vice chairman.

The city government has received a total of P604 million in cash assistance from the national government to be distributed to qualified beneficiaries.

Lawyer Melanie Malaya, city’s business permit and license chief, said the task force is composed of a grievance and appeals committee, monitoring and inspection committee, posting and reporting team, data processing and information technology team as well as a Secretariat.

Malaya said target beneficiaries are low-income families and those working in informal economies affected by the ECQ.

She said more than 151,000 families would receive cash aid worth P1,000 per individual but not exceeding P4,000 per family.

City hall used the records from last year’s Social Amelioration Program, Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps as well as the TODA/PODA lists to identify the beneficiaries from around 155,000 households in Parañaque.

The barangays will identify individuals qualified to receive the financial assistance from the list provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Malaya added the local government would post the daily schedule of the payout per batch on the Facebook account of the public information office.
