Case vs 113 bar customers junked

Ghio Ong - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Makati prosecutor’s office has dismissed the charges filed against 113 people, including television host KC Montero, who were apprehended during a raid on a bar in the city for allegedly breaking quarantine protocols last June.

In a six-page resolution dated Oct. 13 and released to media yesterday, Senior Assistant City Prosecutor Joel Vedan junked the complaint for violation of Republic Act 11332 or the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act against the respondents.

Vedan said the city police, which filed the complaint, failed to provide enough evidence against Montero and the other respondents.

Montero, his wife and several foreigners were arrested by police after they were allegedly caught partying and drinking at Skye bar and restaurant along Salcedo Village.
