LRT-1’s Roosevelt station closed until December

Ralph Edwin Villanueva - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines — The Light Rail Transit Line 1’s station in Roosevelt, Quezon City was closed starting yesterday to make way for the construction of a common railway station that would connect the LRT-1, Metro Rail Transit Lines 3 and 7 and the Metro Manila Subway.

The LRT-1’s last northbound stop until its Roosevelt station reopens after Dec. 28 would be its Balintawak station, the Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC) said.

The LRMC said it is coordinating with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Metro Manila Development Authority for a bus augmentation project to ferry commuters coming from the Roosevelt area.

The DOTr earlier said it expects the common station to be operational by 2022.
