3 more cops positive for virus
MANILA, Philippines — Three more police officers have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019, bringing to 25 the number of policemen infected with COVID-19.
Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac said the patients aged 26, 28 and 39 are assigned in Calabarzon.
Two police officers succumbed to the virus and two others have recovered. The rest are still undergoing treatment, Banac said.
He said 276 are listed as persons under investigation for showing symptoms of the virus.
A total of 1,351 PNP personnel are categorized as persons under monitoring after they came in contact with COVID-19 patients.
Meanwhile, the PNP has received from the Department of Health face masks, surgical gloves, isolation gowns and alcohol for police frontliners.
PNP chief Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa thanked Health Secretary Francisco Duque for the donation.
