Isko undergoes testing for coronavirus

MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno yesterday underwent testing for coronavirus disease 2019 a day after he arrived from an official trip to London, which has more than 400 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Moreno, his chief of staff Cesar Chavez and other city hall officials who accompanied the mayor during the trip were tested for the viral respiratory disease.

Moreno said he would undergo self-quarantine.

He held a meeting with Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna and the directors of the city’s six hospitals to discuss the emergency health crisis.

Moreno went to London where he discussed crime prevention, national security and urban regeneration to public health administration with UK government officials.

He also discussed preventive measures against COVID-19 with Robert Deane, director of the UK government coronavirus task force.
