QUEZON CITY, Philippines — A day after Quezon City Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes handed down the verdict on the Maguindanao massacre case, the operations of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig have returned to normal, an official said.

NCRPO director Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas said the relatives of the detainees in six jail facilities at the police camp could now visit them without inconvenience.

The police camp was locked down for the promulgation of the decade-long Ampatuan massacre case.

Sinas said 28 of the accused, including former Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao governor Zaldy Ampatuan and his siblings Andal Ampatuan Jr. and Anwar Ampatuan Sr., were immediately transferred to the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City after they were found guilty of murder.

The Ampatuans were sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Those who were acquitted were processed for release by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Sinas said.

He said a 20-man security team guarded Solis-Reyes during the promulgation of the case.

Sinas lauded the NCRPO personnel for ensuring the orderly promulgation of the case.
