Iligan environment officer survives gun attack

ILIGAN CITY, Philippines — An environment officer in this city was unhurt in a gun attack on Thursday.

Ranuflo Cenas said he was about to enter his office when he saw an unidentified man pointing a gun at him. He said he managed to seek cover when the gun failed to fire.

A bullet hit the roof of the building where the city engineer’s office is housed.

Cenas said the motive for the attempt on his life could be work-related.
