Woman shot dead by partner
MANILA, Philippines — A 24-year-old woman was allegedly shot dead by her partner during a quarrel in Antipolo City yesterday.
Angela Shynne Villanueva, alias Bamby, suffered a gunshot wound in the body and died while being treated in a nearby hospital.
Responding police officers arrested Villanueva’s partner, identified as Joel Tongco, 42.
Lang Bonite, 27, told police he heard the couple arguing at around 2:30 a.m. at their house in Barangay San Isidro.
Bonite said he heard a gunshot and saw Tongco carrying the body of the woman.
The suspect hailed a tricycle to bring Villanueva to the hospital.
Probers recovered at the crime scene a .38 caliber revolver, according to Pat. Marvin Ibasco of the Antipolo City police.
Tongco is being held at the detention cell of the city police as officers are preparing to file charges against him.
