Marine shot dead in Palawan

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines — A Marine was gunned down in Quezon, Palawan over the weekend.

Alfredo John de Leon was standing in front of a cockpit in Barangay Tagusao, Quezon when two unidentified men arrived and opened fire, Lt. Col. Socrates Faltado, Mimaropa police spokesman, said.

Faltado said New People’s Army rebels could be behind the attack.

An investigation is ongoing.
