Drunk hacks off man’s hand in Caloocan
MANILA, Philippines — A man who was buying pandesal, a type of bread, at a store in Caloocan lost his left hand to a drunk man who hacked him with a bolo before dawn on Sunday.
Police said suspect Aldrin Abinyon, apparently under the influence of alcohol, mistook 21-year-old Joel Liza’s hand for a piece of wood because it was dark at the time.
Abinyon hacked Domingo with a bolo three times on the left ear and both hands.
The victim’s left hand was hacked off and could no longer be reattached, investigators said.
The suspect remains at large.
