Mocha Uson undergoes drug test
MANILA, Philippines — Former communications assistant secretary Mocha Uson subjected herself to a drug test yesterday at the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) headquarters in Quezon City.
Uson, who is seeking a congressional seat as representative of AA Kasosyo party-list, urged other candidates in the 2019 midterm elections to undergo drug tests.
She arrived at the PDEA office to submit her urine samples at past 2 p.m.
Asked what prompted her to undergo a drug test, Uson said she wanted to set an example for other candidates.
“If they are serious in serving the public, other candidates should undergo drug tests to support President Duterte’s campaign against drugs,” she told reporters.
Uson said candidates for senator down to local officials should not be afraid to undergo drug testing if they have nothing to hide.
A PDEA official said the result of Uson’s drug test would be known within 24 hours.
