MANILA, Philippines — A Chinese man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly beating up his Filipina partner in their condominium unit in Pasay City.

Security personnel of Oceanaire condominium apprehended Dai Jingren, 35, and turned him over to the Pasay police.

Menaiko Diacosta Otani, 22, told police she sustained injuries on the head and lips when Dai reportedly beat her due to jealousy at around 5 a.m. Wednesday, according to a report from city police chief Senior Superintendent Noel Flores.

Dai would be charged with violating Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act, police said.
