Go launches PGH Malasakit Center
MANILA, Philippines — Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go yesterday launched the Malasakit Center at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH).
Yesterday’s event followed the successful launch of Malasakit Centers at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Hospital in Bacolod City and Ospital ng Palawan in Puerto Prinsesa City, Palawan last week.
In a statement, Go said the Duterte administration allotted an initial P100-million fund for PGH.
The Malasakit Center is the one-stop shop program of President Duterte to hasten the delivery of medical services and give poor patients access to free medicine.
The Malasakit Center program is in partnership with Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, the Philippine Amusement and Games Corp., Department of Health and the Department of Social Welfare Development.
Go has been instrumental in putting up Malasakit Centers all over the country. Currently, there are centers in Cebu, Iloilo, Tacloban, Bacolod and Palawan.
Go said he will launch Malasakit Centers in Dumaguete and Maasin, Southern Leyte next week as part of the plan to expand the program nationwide.
