2 arrested for attempted murder on teen

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Philippines — Two women were arrested on Tuesday in connection with the murder attempt on a 16-year-old girl in Sitio Pitpitan, Barangay Bayabas, Sablan, Benguet on Sunday.

Thalia Galvan, 18, and Dianne Saranquin, 20, were arrested based on a warrant issued by Benguet Regional Trial Court Judge Marieta Cualing.   

The suspects were positively identified by the victim through their Facebook accounts.

The victim said she was hit in the head and then tossed into a ravine in Benguet by the suspects who asked her to join them in a joy ride in Baguio City after a nightout on Saturday.  

A manhunt for two other suspects is underway.
