Man stabbed dead with cue stick in Malabon City
MANILA, Philippines — For disrupting a game of billiards, a man was stabbed dead with a cue stick in Malabon City on Sunday.
John Erwin Rugay, 34, was stabbed in the nape, allegedly by suspect Jomar Torres, during a billiards game in Barangay Panghulo Sunday night.
Police said Rugay scattered the balls on the billiards table, where Torres and his friends were having a game. Torres lost his temper when he asked Rugay why he interrupted the game and the victim replied, “Bakit, malaki ba pusta (Why, are the bets large)?”
Rugay was declared dead on arrival at the San Lorenzo Ruiz Women’s Hospital. The suspect remains at large.
