Boat sinks off Camarines Sur; one missing

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines —A fisherman was reported missing while three others were rescued after a motorized banca capsized in the waters off Lagonoy, Camarines Sur on Saturday.

Police yesterday searched but failed to find Allan Baao, 39, of Barangay Tamban, Tinambac town.

Baao’s companions – Alex Mabag, 32; Arwin Mabag, 30, and Ariel Abainza, 29 – were rescued by the crewmembers of a fishing boat shortly after the incident, according to Senior Inspector Malou Calubaquib, spokesperson for the Bicol police.

The incident, which occurred before noon near Barangay Mapid, was reported to the local police by village chairman Gerry Cantor.
