HINTS AND TRACES - Ariel Paolo Tejada - The Philippine Star

LAOAG CITY, Philippines – Marcos supporters began yesterday a four-day caravan to press for the burial of former president Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

Dubbed as Kailian March, the caravan started at Paoay Church, where a unity mass was held.

The caravan is expected to arrive in San Fernando City, La Union today and pass by the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. It will proceed to Pangasinan then Tarlac, where unity masses will also be held.

Tomorrow, the caravan will be in Pampanga and Bulacan. It is expected to arrive Manila by Monday. A unity mass and vigil will be held in front of the Supreme Court (SC).

Sources said Ilocos Norte Gov.  Imee Marcos would join the group on Monday.

The SC extended until Oct. 18 its order temporarily stopping the burial of Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani to allow the justices to resolve the case on merits.

Marcos supporters insist the former president was a World War II veteran, being part of the 14th Infantry Battalion and a guerrilla under the United States Army Forces in the Far East and the US Army Forces in the Philippines. - Artemio Dumlao
