New Ozamis archbishop named

MANILA, Philippines - Basilan bishop Martin Jumoad is the new archbishop of Ozamis, the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has announced.

The Vatican appointed Jumoad as it accepted the resignation of Archbishop Jesus Dosado.

“I leave Basilan with a heavy heart because I know the people and they love me. I will go to Ozamis with faith and hope that the Lord will never abandon me and He will show me what to do. Please pray for me,” he said in a statement posted on the CBCP website.

The Ozamis archdiocese covers the dioceses of Dipolog, Iligan, Pagadian and Marawi.
