Abu Sayyaf bandit falls

Roel Pareño - The Philippine Star

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Government security forces captured on Monday a suspected Abu Sayyaf member tagged in the kidnapping of plantation workers in Lantawan, Basilan in 2001.

Adduri Aslain Suari, alias Titing Alpha, was collared based on a warrant for eight counts of kidnapping issued by a local court, said Chief Superintendent Billy Beltran, Zamboanga Peninsula police director.

Beltran said Suari was arrested at his safehouse in Barangay Binuangan in Isabela City at around 9 a.m.

Suari was also accused of involvement in the massacre in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay in 1995 and the killing of 23 Marines, including 11 who were beheaded.
