Jeepney falls off ravine; 6 hurt

LAOAG CITY, Philippines – Six persons were injured when their jeepney fell into a 20-meter ravine in Sarrat, Ilocos Norte on Tuesday.

Maricel Sadian, 36; Ronald Sadian, 9; Andrew Caliva, 42; Emelia Macabura, 68; Christian Jay Calabitin, 14, and Erica Calabitin, 15, were brought to the Dingras District Hospital for treatment. Erica was transferred to Gov. Roque Ablan Sr. Memorial Hospital in Laoag City due to serious shoulder injury.

Police said the jeepney was travelling along the national highway in Sarrat town when the driver lost control of the wheel.
