Maguindanao town council bet shot dead

COTABATO CITY, Philippines – A candidate for town councilor in Buldon, Maguindanao was shot dead on Wednesday night.

Macawali Saranga, 38, was standing near the Cotabato City plaza when he was gunned down, Senior Superintendent Raul Supiter, Cotabato City police director, said yesterday.

Supiter said investigators are eyeing politics or the victim’s involvement in a clan war as possible motives for the attack.
