4 students drown, 1 missing in Albay

CAMARINES NORTE, Philippines  – Four grade school students drowned after swimming on a beach in Barangay Napa Tiwi in Albay on Thursday night.

Mc Rey Rayala, 11, a resident of Barangay Cararayan was found lying on the seashore, while Louie Brucales, 9, and Hasley Nuñez, 14, were found floating in the sea yesterday morning, said Chief Inspector Dennis Balla, Tiwi police chief.  

The victims were pronounced dead on arrival at the Tiwi Rural Health Unit.

The body of Anthony Colasi, 10, a resident of Barangay Cararayan was recovered around 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Search and rescue operations for Edcel Colasi, 11, were ongoing yesterday.

Police said the children had gone swimming after their Christmas party at Cararayan Elementary School. – Francis Elevado, Celso Amo
