4 Cavite cops axed over jailbreak

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A police official and three of his men were removed from their posts after failing to prevent last Wednesday’s jailbreak in Silang, Cavite, wherein eight inmates were reported to have escaped.

Senior Inspector Romulo de Rea, Police Officer 3 Romel Micosa and Police Officers 1 Gil Dullas and Frial Penachos  were placed under administrative relief pending result of an investigation into the incident.

Silang police chief Superintendent Robert Baesa said the officers were ordered to submit their statements at the provincial investigation division to determine if lapses were committed.

The inmates destroyed the door of their cell at around 3:30 a.m.
