Bulacan dengue death toll rises

MALOLOS, Philippines – Another death due to dengue was recorded in Bulacan, bringing the number of fatalities to 20 and cases to 8,100 as of Tuesday.

Records from the epidemiology and surveillance unit of the provincial health office showed this city and the town of San Rafael recorded four deaths each. Hagonoy had three, San Jose del Monte City and Guiguinto town, two each and Angat, Marilao, Norzagaray, Plaridel and Pulilan, one each. 

The number of dengue cases jumped by 328 percent compared to only 1,891 in the same period last year.

San Jose del Monte had the most number of dengue cases at 1,122 while the other towns and cities had cases ranging from 640 to 3,030.q
